Step Change in Safety Ltd
was founded in 1997 as the industry’s leading safety initiative. Membership is open to all companies working in the sector, whether they are members of Oil & Gas UK, or not. It also includes representatives from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Trade Unions. Its remit is to make UK oil and gas operations the safest in the world, and is rooted firmly in the principles of co-operation and sharing. Step Change focuses on three prime areas of activity: recognising hazards and reducing risk, personal ownership for safety and asset integrity.
