NEW FOR 2012 – THE IDEAS IN SAFETY PRIZE
**2012 Winners - Stork Technical Services' On-Site Machining and Bolting Team**
Oil & Gas UK and Step Change in Safety introduced a new category for 2012 - “The Ideas in Safety Prize.”
The "Ideas in Safety Prize" was created to tap into original ideas from the offshore workforce for enhancing safety. The prize was given in recognition of the resourcefulness and creativity of individuals or teams working offshore that have developed a proven idea and which has successfully addressed a specific safety issue in the workplace.
Each year the prize will focus on a particular safety theme, with the theme for the 2012 prize being the reduction of hydrocarbon releases.
Applicants were invited to submit practical ideas for eliminating unsafe practices, which have a meaningful impact on safety performance and the potential to be adopted across the industry.
