Exploration and Appraisal

Large-scale geological structures that might hold oil or gas reservoirs are invariably located beneath non-productive rocks and often below the sea. Seismic surveying of the seabed can identify potentially oil-bearing sedimentary basins and exploration and appraisal drilling can determine the type and volume of any accumulations present.
