Helideck Lighting
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has minimum standards for helideck lighting in terms of luminosity, layout and control specification in order to ensure their visibility to pilots from specified altitudes and distances. Research has been undertaken recently to enhance these minimum standards and provide, for example, additional operational/condition warning lights. The trials for these enhanced helideck lights are now being carried out on installations across the UKCS.
