The North Sea Flight 85N Memorial Fund
The North Sea Flight 85N Memorial Fund was established in memory of the 16 men who tragically lost their lives in the helicopter accident off the north-east coast of Scotland on 1 April 2009. It was closed on 31 July 2010 and almost £370,000 was raised.
The charities to benefit from the fund were chosen by the families. They are the RNLI, CLAN (the Aberdeen-based cancer charity), Create (the Aberdeen-based learning disabilities charity), Cancer Research, Alzheimer Scotland, Help for Heroes, Jump for Heroes, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, St Richards Hospice in Worcester, West Midlands Air Ambulance Service and the Oil Chaplaincy Trust.
